Western Michigan FAIR {part ONE}

I was visiting CWM3 on Wednesday and it was crappy weather {go figure} so Chuck had the day off, so we thought we would check out the mason county fair/ West Michigan Fair in Ludington. We saw cows, horses, and every other animal. Also was the exotic animals. Fox, Tiger, and monkey. Between the rain we were able to see most of the fun stuff at the fair, or carnival {as CWM3 calls it}. It was a fun day, we are heading back on Saturday for the DEMO Derby!!! that will be {part 2}.

skinny dippin'

The Big Dipper was out, with tons of Stars.

Wind at 5-10 miles an hour, the waves were crashing up to the sand causing a huge step in the sand.

No one around, but us...

It was a perfect night to be at the water tower.

{We took off our clothes
Threw 'em on the sheet
Sand between our toes
Bare white tushes lord
Sunlight on the lake, glistenin'
And we were Skinny Dippin'}

WEEK 28/52

My Goals for 2011: See my Progress Here

1. Take one picture a day minimum (see here) : I have been doing really good with all of my photos that I have taken, and I very much enjoy taking photos'.

2. read my 5 minutes a day devotional book everyday: I need to put this book on my night stand, I'm slacking :(

3. read 2 books per month (you can keep track of me on here) : Oh dear way behind, I have read about 6 books this year, I need to get my booty in gear, I love to read. I read a book at the beach the other day! and am currently reading Sisters, a book my mom gave me.

4. continue to blog here on blogspot http://www.rachaeljk.blogspot.com/ : I love to blog, and I hope you enjoy reading my blog.

5. getting a job I love : I love my job as a nanny, it's currently summer time and the 5 year old isn't in school, wow!! what a difference.

6. trying one new thing a month that I have never done. : I love this idea, I started last year, and somehow this year, it's coming way easier. I don't have to rush around finding something new.

7. to find a church in my area that I enjoy : I feel like I don't have enough time in the week, by the time Sunday comes, I have the day off and want to be on Vacation. I do read the prayer line, but have to concentrate on making this goal.

8. Celebrate my 30th birhtday with those that I LOVE! :I had a blast for my 30th Birthday!!!

9. Tone and lose weight. Get into Shape to have more energy. : I just posted about this:

10. quit smoking by my 30th birthday (6/11) : did NOT accomplish :(

11. BE HAPPY!!! : I love my life, kids 5 days a week, then 2 days off with the man I love:

#2 The Manistee Fire Hall 1881

take a walk through history!!!

Our 2nd Stop:
The Manistee Fire Hall 1881

281 First St, Manistee
The Manistee Fire Hall, a two story cross gabled,
Romanesque Revival-style building, rests on a firestone
foundation. It is flanked by a two and one half story copper
domed tower. Designed by Architect F.W. Hollister, the structure is unique in
that it has not undergone any alterations in the usage or design since it was built.
It is the oldest continuously operated fire hall in Michigan.

It was super HOT out, but again the building is beautiful.

4th of July Weekend

The holiday weekend was filled with tons of new things: Chuck and I camp alot, but we have never stayed at a campground, so that was a first for US. Also, this was my first time at the Ludington Flea Market, and 1st time at the Ludington Craft Show. Chuck took me to the Ludington Marina, and He took me BowFishing.. They go out every weekend, and this was the first time, I was able to go out with them :)

It wasn't my first time to the State Park, but it was the first time tubing down the Sauble River from the Hamlin Lake Dam to Lake Michigan. We had a blast and the weather was great!!! The mile walk back was fun, we saw a fawn and mother deer along with the yearling.

CWM3 lived in Ludington for 10 years, but hasn't lived there in 3 years, so it was fun for him to show me all around town :) We got to see tons of sunsets and had way too many s'mores. It's the 1st time i've seen the SS Badger go out. and Ludington did a great job with the 4th of July Fireworks.

CWM3 and I had a blast this weekend...
