Our 2nd Stop:
The Manistee Fire Hall 1881
281 First St, Manistee
The Manistee Fire Hall, a two story cross gabled,
Romanesque Revival-style building, rests on a firestone
foundation. It is flanked by a two and one half story copper
domed tower. Designed by Architect F.W. Hollister, the structure is unique in
that it has not undergone any alterations in the usage or design since it was built.
It is the oldest continuously operated fire hall in Michigan.
It was super HOT out, but again the building is beautiful.
