I am very sad to say that "Aunt" Kathy had passed away. Kathy is my dad (Todd's) Aunt. But is my parents age, and has kids our ages. I will miss you "Aunt" Kathy!!!
Kathy Ann Dent, 55, of Mt. Pleasant passed away, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw
Funeral services for Kathy will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church on River Road in Mt. Pleasant on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Samuel Reith officiating. Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Monday, January 24, 2011 from 10 a.m. to time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and at the church.
Kathy was born on March 20, 1955 in Holland, MI the daughter of Arthur and Norma (Rosendahl) VanOrder. She married Phillip Dent on March 20, 1974 in Chippewa Lake. Kathy was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Kathy worked as a waitress at the Soaring Eagle Casino. She enjoyed painting, knitting and crocheting, especially slippers and blankets for family, traveling and sight seeing, especially treasured vacations to Maui and Mexico. Kathy was an avid reader especially of Karen Kingsbury novels. She also enjoyed the family cabin. Kathy really enjoyed spending time with her family and truly treasured her 5 grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Phillip; sons, Phillip D. (Kelly) Dent, Jr. of Bay City, Nathaniel S. (Alicia Travis) Dent of Mt. Pleasant, Jonathan M. Dent of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Makayla M. and Brianna L. Dent of Lansing, Brandan M., Ashlee N. Dent of Bay City, Aubrey M. Dent of Mt. Pleasant; brothers, Arthur (Betty) VanOrder of Zeeland, Richard (Betty) VanOrder of Zeeland, and Thomas (Marie) VanOrder of Holland, Carl (Shirley) VanOrder of Zeeland; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Brohman of Buchanan; mother-in-law, Adella M. Bergey of Mt. Pleasant; aunts, Katie Rosendahl and Edna Mae Moddie, both of Holland.
